When you enroll in Track 2 Level III Certification for Coaches, or Track 3 Level III Certification for Clinicians, you’ll complete your Level I and Level II certification requirements, and then you’ll receive TEN 30-MINUTE MENTORING CALLS with Dr. Dorie. You may schedule these calls any time, for case consultations, practice of your EDIT™ Skills, and strategies to make more of a difference for the clients you serve. PLUS, you’ll work on a special project, such as the development of an EDIT™ Curriculum to use in a group setting, creating content for a workshop about an eating disorder topic, or getting started writing a book! ZOOM CONFERENCING can be used to offer workshops and groups online (and Dr. Dorie can help you with tips to get started hosting your own calls and groups).
When You Enroll in EDIT™ Level III Certification Here’s What You’ll Receive:
These ON DEMAND eating disorder webinars for EDIT™ Level II certification were created by “Dr. Dorie” McCubbrey, PhD, MSEd, LPC, LAC, CEDS. You’ll receive immediate access to downloadable training materials plus online training videos (for Level I certification). Plus, you’ll receive access to the Level II eating disorder webinars, feating role play videos so you can see “EDIT™ In Action. In addition, you’ll get a 1-hour 1-on-1 call with Dr. Dorie, where you’ll role play together. After successful completion of the requirements, you’ll receive the credential EDIT™ Certified II, with the benefits of completing the training from the comfort of your home or office (or outdoors)! Please review the sections below for additional features and benefits.
You’ll receive downloadable guidelines about becoming an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Treatment Clinician, or an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Recovery Coach. You will learn DO’s and DONT’s to help you stay within the guidelines for your profession.
Upon registration, you will receive immediate access to the Level I downloadable EDIT™ Training Manual and EDIT™ Worksheets. The six 1-hour EDIT™ Training Videos will walk you through the entire training manual. It is suggested that you print the manual so you can take notes. The manual will guide you in using the EDIT™ tools and techniques illustrated through the EDIT™ Worksheets. You may print and use these worksheets in sessions with your clients.
After completing the home study as described above, you’ll complete the EDIT™ Certified Test and email to Dr. Dorie for review. This short test features basic questions about the EDIT™ Theory and Principles, plus a case study where you can demonstrate the application of EDIT™ Techniques. Although this test will not be “graded,” it is required for documentation of your EDIT™ Training and to become EDIT™ Certified I.
The ON DEMAND 3-hour Webinar Workshop includes a summary of the key points from the Level I online training, role play videos where Dr. Dorie illustrates each of the five EDIT™ Principles in session with a “client,” plus sample role plays from people becoming EDIT™ II Certified (they are the clinician/coach and Dr. Dorie is their client). Throughout the eating disorder webinars, Dr. Dorie provides answers to commonly asked questions. You may start and stop the webinar as often as you wish, or watch the 3-hours all at once.
The role play videos explore the concept of “thought ED-ITs” – to shift from the mindset of the Eating Disorder (ED) into the healing wisdom of the Intuitive Therapist (IT). Role plays will illustrate a dialogue between ED and IT, for each of the five EDIT™ Principles – Love Your Self, Be True To Your Self, Express Your Self, Give To Your Self, Believe In Your Self. The videos also illustrate how to use key EDIT™ Worksheets for each principle, including techniques to improve body image, intuitive and mindful meal practices, emotional coping skills, strategies for Self-Care, and the essentials for relapse prevention.
After you’ve watched the Webinar Workshop, then you’ll contact Dr. Dorie to schedule your 1-hour, 1-on-1 call. This is your opportunity to ask any specific questions about the EDIT™ approach, PLUS you’ll demonstrate your EDIT™ skills through role plays with Dr. Dorie (YOU are the Clinician/Coach, and Dr. Dorie is your client). This is your “Oral Exam,” where you’ll demonstrate the integration of the EDIT™ Principles and Worksheets into your role play. During this hour call, Dr. Dorie will get to know you, and will offer specific guidance to meet your goals for becoming EDIT™ Level II Certified.
You’ll receive a total of TEN 30-MINUTE calls with Dr. Dorie, which can be scheduled anytime you need one! Discuss client cases, role play to develop new EDIT™ Skills, discuss the EDIT™ Worksheets and how to best use these for different types of eating disorders – it’s up to you! Dr. Dorie can also share the successes and challenges from her 25+ years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders.
Dr. Dorie will work with you to set your primary goals for becoming EDIT™ Certified. These may include developing skills to work with individual clients, leading workshops or groups, writing blog articles or a book, starting or growing your business – the sky has no limits! Your Special Project will reflect your goals – for example, you may provide video or audio tapes of your sessions for Dr. Dorie to review and provide feedback for you. Or, you may develop an EDIT™ Curriculum to lead a support group in your community. You can also develop an outline for a book about eating disorders, with a few sample chapters. As the author of two books, Dr. Dorie welcomes the opportunity to guide you to share your Voice with the world!
Upon successful completion of the requirements, you’ll receive an EDIT™ Certified III certificate, which is suitable for framing. A detailed description of the clinical content and Dr. Dorie’s credentials can be provided upon request, which most licensure boards will accept as proof of 10 hours of Continuing Education for licensure renewal. An EDIT™ Certified badge will be provided for your use on your website and other marketing materials.
