During this online eating disorder training and certification, you can earn a certification in Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy (EDIT)™ which is a comprehensive approach for the treatment of eating disorders, featuring evidence-based practices and innovative integrative techniques.
Become an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Treatment Clinician or an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Recovery Coach (you must meet specific education and licensure/training requirements, described in detail on the registration page). If you have your own recovery experience but no formal training as a coach or clinician, then you can become an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Peer Support provider.
You Decide Where & When Class Is In Session!
The EDIT™ Level I Eating Disorder Training Online is designed to fit your busy life! You can progress as quickly as you wish, or take as much time as you need. Some people complete the six 1-hour EDIT™ training videos and accompanying EDIT™ training manual in just a few days. However, there is no time limit, so you can take six weeks, six months, or longer.
After you complete the EDIT™ eating disorder training online, there is a one-page EDIT™ Test you will need to complete to earn your certification. The test is not “graded,” but is designed for you to demonstrate sufficient comprehension of the EDIT™ online eating disorder training. Dr. Dorie will review your test and will provide feedback for you, along with your certificate of completion. When You Enroll in EDIT™ Level I Certification Here’s What You’ll Receive:
This Independent Study version of EDIT™ training and certification was created by “Dr. Dorie” McCubbrey, PhD, MSEd, LPC, LAC, CEDS. You’ll receive immediate access to downloadable training materials plus online training videos. You’ll receive the credential EDIT™ Certified I, with the benefits of online training from the comfort of your home or office (or outdoors)! Please review the sections below for additional features and benefits.
As a part of your Independent Study, you’ll receive downloadable guidelines about becoming an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Treatment Clinician, an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Recovery Coach, or an EDIT™ Certified I – Eating Disorder Peer Support provider. You will receive DO’s and DONT’s to help you stay within the guidelines for your profession.
Upon registration, you will receive immediate access to the Level I downloadable EDIT™ Training Manual and EDIT™ Worksheets. The six 1-hour EDIT™ Training Videos will walk you through the entire training manual. It is suggested that you print the manual so you can take notes. The manual will guide you in using the EDIT™ tools and techniques illustrated through the EDIT™ Worksheets. You may print and use these worksheets in sessions with your clients.
After completing the home study as described above, you’ll complete the EDIT™ Certified Test and email to Dr. Dorie for review. This short test features basic questions about the EDIT™ Theory and Principles, plus a case study where you can demonstrate the application of EDIT™ Techniques. Although this test will not be “graded,” it is required for documentation of your EDIT™ Training and to become EDIT™ Certified I.
Upon successful completion of the EDIT™ Test, you may use the title EDIT™ Certified I, which adds credibility for your work to guide others in eating disorder recovery. You’ll also receive an EDIT™ Certified I certificate, which is suitable for framing. A detailed description of the clinical content and Dr. Dorie’s credentials can be provided upon request, which most licensure boards will accept as proof of 6 hours of Continuing Education for licensure renewal. An EDIT™ Certified badge will be provided for your use on your website and other marketing materials.
As a special follow-up, you may create a profile to be featured in the online EDIT™ Certified Directory. Your profile includes your photo, contact information, and a paragraph description of services. Your listing is FREE for one full year, with links back to your website which can enhance your Search Engine Optimization.
